HEIR OF RA -- BOOK ONE, BLOOD OF RA

HEIR OF RA is an action-packed adventure starring a fifteen-year-old girl, Alyssa, who accompanies her father on an archeological dig. When her father becomes ill by a mysterious disease related to opening a tomb (think curse of King Tut combined with Covid-19), she races to save him—and possibly all of humanity. If this premise sounds simple, it’s because you haven’t read HEIR OF RA.

Maciek Sasinowski takes readers on an intrigue-filled journey across Egypt, Peru, England and the US.  At first, I thought the author went off on tangents, but they all come together. The story moves rapidly so readers should pay attention to chapter headings to get their bearing. The author’s apparent understanding of technology, biology, history, and mythology comes through in this fascinating story.

Sasinowski's vivid writing paints word pictures the reader can “see” as he or she reads. The characters are appealing and three-dimensional. I appreciated that his writing includes humor to lighten the action.

The heroine, Alyssa, is based on the author’s daughter. If the real Alyssa is anything like her namesake, she must be both a challenge and a pleasure to keep up with and parent! In HEIR OF RA she doesn’t know who to trust as she fulfills her quest to save her father.  I can see this story as the first of a popular series and even made into a movie.

If you enjoy YA, you will enjoy this story. Books two and three are sure to provide more reading enjoyment.

About the Author - written from the point-of-view of his 15-year old daughter (that's me! J)

Some say that M. Sasinowski writes until 4 am… fueled by a single cup of decaf coffee. Others say this Polish-born American hyper-nerd absorbs energy from late-night TV space shows. No matter the truth… he’s my dad. He will never be cool.

He loves archaeology, Star Wars/Trek, martial arts (especially women who kick butt), and impromptu father/daughter (that’s me! J) science debates or music jam-sessions.

He’s kind of smart, I suppose (he has a physics PhD and an MD, or whatever) and likes to build computers for fun.

His teenage daughter (that’s me! J) is occasionally a handful to deal with and also served as the inspiration for the main character in his debut young adult novel Heir of Ra.

You may recognize him from his glorious hair or his tendency to do the “vacuum cleaner” dance to embarrass his daughter (that’s me…L).

If you ever see this man, approach with care and greet him in a language he understands, like in Klingon or, better yet, in Wookie. Guurrghghgh!

Take a peek behind the curtain of wealth and glamour in Phyllis Melhado’s sassy and sultry beach read. The guests who arrive for a 10-day stay at the nation’s premier spa at Lavender Lane seem to have
everything a girl could want: high-flying careers, social and financial prowess, access to the top fashions and beauty products, and even a dash of
fame. Yet each woman is in need of rejuvenation from insecurities, flatlined business motivation, or failed relationships – problems that will require more than the spa’s renowned anti-aging quince cream to fix. As the women learn to trust one another, they each figure out how to take a second chance at life, and reclaim what’s most important.

“We’re here, Miss,” the driver said, jarring Toni Etheridge from a state roughly approaching relaxation.

She pushed her sunglasses up into her tousled auburn hair and snapped open her bloodshot hazel eyes, almost sorry the ride was over. The trip from LAX had provided the first pleasant moments in an otherwise horrendous travel day filled with an insane traffic jam on the way to JFK which nearly caused her to miss her flight, a terrible seat at the rear of the plane where the cabin staff were constantly rattling cans and refilling their carts and a raucous group of drag queens on their way to a competition in LA, who didn’t shut up for a minute during the entire five-hour flight. But the capper was the sudden drop in altitude that put her stomach firmly in her mouth and sent her stumbling to the bathroom to make sure that her body had not betrayed her like it had done a few years before. Happily, what she found was just the result of a leaky bladder and not the catastrophe she had dreaded.

“May I help you?” asked the good-looking young man as he opened the car door and offered his hand. He smiled broadly, gleaming white teeth set off by eager blue eyes and deeply tanned skin.

Even though they were miles from the sea, Toni thought he had perfect California surfer looks, complete with thick, wavy blonde hair and a tall, well-built body.

“Did you have a good trip?” he inquired.

“Good trip!” Toni grunted, pushing her glasses back down to shield her eyes from the southern California desert sun. “Do you really want to know?

She leaned back and looked at him for a long moment, then laughed. “Of course you don’t want to know! I’ll spare you.”

There was an audible sigh of relief.

“Ms.,” the limo driver interjected, appearing with two mismatched and beaten-up travel bags.

“Oh, thanks. You can dump my stuff over there,” Toni said, pointing to a collection of Gucci, Vuitton and Prada bags waiting to be delivered to the rooms of other newly arrived guests.

“Now, Michael?” she asked, focusing on the name badge pinned to the surfer boy’s neat white Lacoste shirt. “Where to?” She grabbed his arm and gave him one of her most engaging smiles.
Michael smiled politely and tried to usher Toni in through the front door. “They’ll take good care of you at the desk, Ms...”

“Etheridge,” Toni said, taking off her sunglasses, but making no move to walk in.

“We’ve got to get you checked in quickly, Ms. Etheridge. Madame Demidova runs a tight ship.”

“I’ve heard that, Michael,” Toni said, toying with his nametag. I’m sure she depends on you to, uh, keep things moving.” She flashed him a coy smile. “And I certainly don’t want to get you in any kind of trouble.”

There was an awkward pause.

“I would sure appreciate that, Ma’am.”

“Ma’am!” Toni shrieked. “Dear God. I’m not that old!”

“Of course not!” Michael said quickly as he encouraged her through the door to reception.

“Ah, Ms. Etheridge,” the front desk clerk said. “Welcome!” But before Toni had a chance to reply, the cell phone buried in her huge tote bag began to ring. Damn, she thought, remembering the rules she had read in Lavender Lane’s confirmation letter: No men, other than staff, allowed on the premises. No loud talking in the public areas. And absolutely no cell phones. She began fumbling in her bag. “Shit!” she said, quite audibly. “Where is the damn thing?”

“Ah,” she heard a voice say softly. “You must be Antoinette Etheridge. We’ve been expecting you.”

Toni looked at the small, impeccably dressed woman who had silently advanced toward her. Clearly Chanel, and definitely the real thing -- and oh-oh. It could only be one person.

“Oh, dear. I am so sorry,” she said sheepishly. Her phone, which had migrated to the bottom of her bag, somewhere between a prickly hairbrush and a plastic bag full of broken pretzel bits, continued to ring. “Guess I forgot to turn the darned thing off.” Gee-sus. Do you believe this? Toni felt her face flower into a full flush. She rummaged around her bag and after two more excruciating rings, finally located the phone and turned it off.

The woman in Chanel stood silently, a patient smile on her face.

“My apologies,” Toni said.

“Nothing to be concerned about,” the woman said in a soothing tone. “You’re here, now, and it’s time to leave behind those dreadful little machines and all that New York stress.” She offered her hand. “I'm Nadia Demidova, dear. Welcome to Lavender Lane.”

MAIL-ORDER BEATRICE -- NEW RELEASE!

Woo Hoo! Welcome to another book birthday celebration! Today is release day for MAIL-ORDER BEATRICE in the Widows, Brides, and Secret Babies series, book 10. This is such a fun series and readers appear to love reading the books.

We’ve talked about the reason for so many mail-order brides from the East going West to meet their groom. In some instances they’ve corresponded for months to insure they are suited in basic goals. In the instance of Beatrice, she doesn’t have the luxury of time. She needs to find a place for herself and her infant son immediately.

When the opportunity presents itself, she seizes the chance. Soon she is on her way from Atlanta to Texas. I love the area of Texas to which she travels, the hill country between Bandera and Medina on the Medina River. Years ago, our family spent several days at the Mayan Dude Ranch near Bandera. I fell in love with the area.

The Medina River

Several years ago our youngest daughter and I traveled back through the area on our way home from San Antonio. Technically, this was NOT on the way, but for us it was. Accustomed to shenanigans, we had a great trip. We even took a detour through Lost Maples State Natural Area.

Lost Maples State Natural Area
formerly used by rustlers and Comancheros

But I digressed.

Here is the blurb summary for MAIL-ORDER BEATRICE:

Beatrice “Attie” Kendall has to escape from home with her six-week-old son. With the help of her kind brother, she goes to Atlanta where she consults a matchmaker. After the hard life Attie’s been dealt for her twenty years, she’ll finally have a good home with nice people and a friend nearby.  In fact, her husband and their home seem too good to be true. Does she dare trust that her life has really changed?

Tate Merritt isn’t ready to get married but he gives in to his grandfather’s coercing. Grandpa raised him and Tate tries to please the older man. Tate doesn’t know what to think about this mail-order bride. She isn’t at all the wife he imagined—plus, she showed up with a baby! The child’s a cute little thing but Tate isn’t sure how he feels about her surprising him. How can he trust a woman who keeps altering her story?

Life presents obstacles to further complicate Attie and Tate’s marriage. They’ll have to work together to solve their problems and protect their family.  Can they trust one another enough to make this marriage work?

MAIL-ORDER BEATRICE is available in ebook and print and is free in KU.

Here’s an excerpt of when they meet:
Tate’s misgivings grew as the stage came closer. By the time the vehicle stopped in front of them, he was ready to turn tail and run for home. He’d given his word, though, and he never broke his word. That meant he’d stand here and look halfway pleased his bride had arrived—if she had.
First person off the stage was a pretty brunette. She turned back and took a basket from inside the stage and held it while a beautiful blonde stepped out. The blonde took the basket and hugged the brunette.
Reg walked up to the brunette. “You must be Hannah. I’m Reggie.” They walked off to where his parents stood.
Grandpa nudged him. “Son, are you nailed to the boardwalk?”
He came out of his reverie and walked to the blonde. She was a pretty woman and had a real sweet expression on her face.
“I’m Tate Merritt. Are you Beatrice Bishop?”
“I am. My friends call me Attie, but whichever you please is fine.”
“Shall I take the basket?”
“If you don’t mind.” She handed it to him and removed the cloth she had covering the basket.
He glanced at the contents then stared. “It… It’s a baby. I didn’t know you were bringing a baby. Is this kid yours?”
Her chin came up. “His name is Wade. I’m a widow, you see, and Wade is my son.”
Grandpa had strolled over and peered at the basket’s contents. “Well, I’ll be if that isn’t a cute little sprout. Wade you say? Looks like a fine boy.”
Her face radiated such joy her beauty increased. “He is a very good boy. I’m fortunate to have him.”
She looked at Tate. “I didn’t have a chance to let you know I was bringing him but the matchmaker said from what your minister wrote that she was sure you’d not mind. Your preacher mentioned what a kind and loving family yours was.”
Grandpa stood there grinning like a fool which certainly was no help.
“You’re here so I suppose we’ll manage. We’re due at the church now. I’ll load your luggage if you’ll show me which is yours.”
Grandpa reached for the basket. “I’ll take charge of my great-grandson.”
Muttering under his breath, Tate escorted his used bride to the pile of luggage the stage driver had set on the boardwalk.
Attie reached for a carpetbag. “This and that small trunk there. The brown one.”
“That’s all?”
“It is.” She raised her chin again—defiantly, he thought, but he supposed it could have been the difference in their height.
He gauged her size and judged her to be about six or seven inches over five feet. Her eyes were the brightest blue he’d ever seen. In addition to being wrinkled from the trip, her dress was plain and frayed at the cuffs and the hem.
Reg and his father loaded a large trunk and valise onto their wagon.
Reg laughed. “Funny our mail-order brides being friends, isn’t it? Guess you’re going to the church next so we’ll see you there.”
“You know Mr. Spencer?” His used bride touched his arm and appeared excited. “Why, that’s wonderful. Hannah and I are good friends. I hope we can visit them sometimes.”
He hefted a trunk and a heavy carpetbag. “Sure I know him. Guess I know about everyone in this county and the next. There aren’t that many of us.”
She kept step with him. “I get the feeling you’re not happy about the baby and me being a widow instead of never wed. I can understand that but I hope you won’t send me back.”
He stopped and looked at her. “Attie, I’m not sending you back. I can’t help being a little upset because I didn’t know you had a baby or that you were a widow.”
He started walking again. “I had this picture in my head. Give me a little time to get my mind changed around to the real you.”
He dang sure would have chosen someone else if he’d had a choice. Instead of a virgin, he had a used bride with some other man’s baby. If that didn’t beat all, he didn’t know what would.

Of course Tate softens up during the story. He’s a good man and Beatrice is a good woman, as they demonstrate. But, Beatrice will only be pushed so far and then she’ll retaliate. Watch out, world!

I hope you’ll read and enjoy MAIL-ORDER BEATRICE. You’ll find it a quick read, sweet, and fun. Of course you're guaranteed a happy ending. That's one of the joys of reading romance.

Many of you have mentioned you enjoy jigsaw puzzles, so here's one of MAIL-ORDER BEATRICE's cover.

FOREWORD BY SUZANNE SOMERS

Biology of the Brain

Are you sick?

Are you plagued by chronic health problems with no cure or remedy in sight?

Are you tired of spending thousands on medications that only seem to make you worse?

Think that your drugs are a sham that are just managing symptoms and never dealing with the root cause? You’re not alone!

Millions suffer from similar ailments and health struggles just like you, only to be prescribed more medications that can actually cause harm, and in some cases, even kill you. The medical industry has it all backward!

Chronic health conditions and mental health disorders are increasing at an alarming rate, and yet we are still trying to use the same old ineffective drugs that can have very serious side effects.

We’re the blind leading the blind in the hopes that the next great pill will solve all of our problems. Meanwhile, the health of the majority of Canadians and Americans is deteriorating—fast!

But there is a growing understanding in the community that there’s a bigger beast at the heart of the health epidemic…

It’s called the microbiome. And it’s intimately connected to your brain.

Microbiome health is brain health.

In The Biology of the Brain, Kent MacLeod, pharmacist, founder and CEO of NutriChem Compounding Pharmacy and Clinic, breaks down why modern medicine is killing people instead of healing them. Instead of leaving the problem as it stands, he provides you with clear, actionable steps to not only heal your microbiome, but to restore your brain health and get your life back.
Read an Excerpt

This chapter is about the 50% of people that do not get a full response to our microbiome treatment plans within the first 30 days. We’ll cover how:

• Not everyone responds to diet, probiotics, and prebiotics.

• There are bacteria and fungi that must be killed off, and are dificult to kill off, before certain people can shift their microbiome effectively.

• There are certain herbal antimicrobials that have proven to be as effective as many antibiotics for killing biofilm-forming microorganisms.

• There are other herbals, with less scientific evidence, that have been used traditionally to treat gastrointestinal issues.

We are beginning to realize that almost all substances, be it a drug, a food, or a drink, impact the microbiome, and we must be aware of this. RESPECT THE MICROBIOME! DISRESPECT IT AT YOUR PERIL!

For certain patients, we have to dig deeper into their issues with specific testing. Using urinary organic acid testing (a urine sample), we can look at signs of bacterial or fungal overgrowth and biofilms that may not be treatable with diet, probiotics, and prebiotics. We also look at stool samples for bacterial strains, and perform bacterial DNA testing to identify what bugs are currently residing in your gut.

We are just now beginning to awaken to the fact that any time that you change your diet, fibers, drugs, or herbs, you are always shifting or manipulating the microbiome. Anything that you intake, be it food, drink, or drugs, can impact the microbiome. Exercise, sleep, and stress reduction have also shown to improve the health of the microbiome.

An interesting example is the drug, metformin. Metformin has been the number one oral drug used to treat Type 2 diabetes for decades. Initially, we thought that this drug sensitized the body to insulin via the pancreas or liver, but recent studies have shown that metformin actually exerts its effects via the microbiome.

HIS SMALL-TOWN GIRL

Sutter’s Hollow Book 1
Sweet Romance

She’s sweet and wholesome. And hiding something.
He’s back home, resurrecting old ghosts.
One of them is going to get hurt.

Molly arrives in Sutter’s Hollow out of gas and out of options. The rundown ranch seems like a perfect place to hide. Except the man who owns it seems just as dangerous as what’s chasing her.

Cord’s mantra growing up? Get out of Sutter’s Hollow. Now he’s back in town, but only long enough to get rid of his grandma’s ball and chain—the ranch. He doesn’t need a complication like Molly, who reminds him of an injured baby bird. He’s no protector. So why can’t he tell her to get lost?

Excerpt

Molly strummed her guitar lightly, the squeak and pull of the strings familiar and comforting.

But not enough to relax her to the point where she could close her eyes and sleep.

Nothing was these days.

She had her shoulder wedged against her driver's side door, her body turned sideways, and one booted foot up on the seat. Counting the minutes until they turned into hours.

It wasn't that late. Eight. Maybe eight-thirty.

From where her truck had died in his drive, she'd seen the rancher's truck—its headlights, rather—drive up behind the ranch house and then shut off. Lights had gone on inside the ranch house in a sort of pattern. Her imagination told her he'd stopped in the kitchen to wash up. Maybe feed the dog. He'd moved into the living room next. Watched a sitcom. No, a cop drama. A sitcom might make him smile, and that wouldn't do.

The living room light had gone off, too, and then an upstairs light had gone on.

Lots of nightlife for the rancher. Cord.

She let her head loll back against the seat, her fingers going lax on the frets so the next strum was a jangle of wrong notes.

It was going to be a long night.

Her thoughts began to unravel. Her breathing sped up as her anxiety spiked.

No.

She was safe here.

No one knew where she was. No one except the rancher.

She was parked plenty far back from the road. If anyone turned in the drive, she'd see them. She'd have time to react.

There were two empty fields on either side of her truck. Grass as far as the eye could see. No one could sneak up on her here.

She could worry about her future tomorrow. Figure out what to do about the dwindling loaf of bread and jar of peanut butter she'd been rationing for days.

She jumped when a flash of light came through the windshield. It glared right in her eyes, temporarily blinding her.

She scrambled to get the guitar out of the way. It echoed discordant notes as it hit the dash. She'd picked up a small canister of pepper spray at a gas station a hundred miles ago. Where had she put it—?

The light was gone, and she blinked against the hazy afterimages burned into her vision.

It was the rancher. His shoulders filled the driver's side window, and he tapped the butt of his flashlight on the glass.

She took her sweet time rolling it down—the hand crank helped with that—using the moments to try to slow her frantic breathing.

"What're you doing out here?"

His voice was harsh and demanding. And somehow comforting. He'd been gruff and dismissive earlier. She'd trusted him. Maybe that was stupid.

"You can't stay here," he said.

"I can't leave." She tapped the steering wheel. "This puppy is dead."

Skepticism was written all over his face.

"You want me to prove it?" She gave the key a twist. Nothing happened. Not even a click.

His expression didn't change from the frown he'd appeared with. “Call a tow truck."

He had to be kidding. A tow from the little town she'd passed would be expensive.

"Who's gonna come all the way out here tonight?" she asked. "Plus, I'm dead broke."

"Well, you can't stay out here." Was that her imagination, or was there a little bit of the same desperation she felt leaking out of the man.

"It's fifteen miles to Sutter's Hollow," she said. "You want me to walk? In the dark?"

"What about your family?"

"Don't have any." It wasn't a lie. She didn't have any family that would help her.

Even in the dim light from the flashlight, she could see a muscle jumping in his cheek. He ducked his head and mumbled something too low for her to make out.

"Get out of the truck."

She bristled at this order. She wasn't walking down those winding dirt roads in the dark.

"You're not sleeping in your truck. You can stay the night. Tomorrow morning, I'll drive you to town. You're on your own from there. And you better figure out a way to get your truck off my land."

"Really?" She grabbed her backpack and guitar from the passenger floorboard and then juggled both on her lap as she rolled up the crank window. The door made an awful metal creak when she moved to hop out. She caught the cowboy's wince in the dim light from his flashlight.

"That truck is older than you are."

"I know. Ain't it great?" She tried to cover up her nerves by giving the hood an affectionate pat as she shifted her backpack onto her shoulder. Maybe he wouldn't see how white her knuckles were as she clutched her guitar. "She was my mom's. Back before I was born."

He mumbled something else. Maybe he had a mumbling problem. Or maybe he just didn't like her.

"Just because something is old or needs work doesn't mean you give up on it," she said.

He sent her a sideways glare but didn't say anything else. She followed him toward the sad old farmhouse, careful to keep a good yard between them.

From the porch, his farm dog wagged its tail.

Seeing it helped settle the nervous energy jangling through her. Animals were a true judge of character. The farm dog was lean but groomed. It's teeth were good. And it was friendly.

Maybe she couldn't trust herself to judge a man's character, but she'd grown up on a ranch. She could trust the dog. It wasn't as if she was going to sleep a wink anyway. Might as well be warm inside instead of freezing in her truck.

TO BE HIS -- GATEWAY RANCH SERIES

Don't forget the Rafflecopter at the end of the post!

Nestled within the hills of central Texas is a special ranch. A place that defies the laws of physics—that of time, space, and dimensions. It’s a place where normal morphs with the paranormal and supernatural. A place that seems to know what a person’s true desires and needs are, and then allows the right circumstances to occur to fulfill those wishes.Welcome to the Gateway Ranch.Your gateway to all things possible…

Book interview for To Be His by CR Moss

What’s the inspiration for the book/series?

~ The inspiration for the Gateway Ranch series stemmed from a trip Jo & I went on where we stayed on a working ranch. There were ranchers/cowboys, horses, trail rides, campfires, cattle, and food cooked outside. Our muses started asking, "What if?" When we returned home with a handful of ideas, we went to Austyn and said, "Guess what we're going to write about." From there we started brainstorming and writing stories. Granted, that took place a decade ago and the stories and series have morphed since then. My first book, To Be Yours, had been previously published under the title Wild West Weekend, but I explained the changes in a letter in the book and why it’s more like new than old. To Be His had also been previously published as, Keep You Safe, for a short time in a multi-author anthology, but as I did with the first book, I reworked TBH to fit the Gateway Ranch world. Austyn Sherrie, Johanna Riley, and I also made the ranch have a supernatural aspect to it so we could add our own spins to our own stories that take place at the GR. More information can be found here: https://threeflamespublishing.com/books/gateway-ranch-series/

What was your favorite scene to write? Why?

~ I liked the scene where Ariana first sees Gavin. She’s totally shocked and gets frazzled but can’t do anything about it.

Give us an interesting and fun fact about your book and/or its characters.

~ Both my heroine and I are artists.

Do you have more books planned for this series?

~ Yes! My next book, To Be Mine, will be another republish of a story I’d written ages ago. I’m taking out the northeast references and setting it in the Gateway world. TBM will be another Contemporary Romantic Suspense. After that, I’ll put out two time travels and some chick lit stories set in the ranch world. One of the time travels will be a revamp of a previously published story called Wild West Hauntings and be like new. Lots to look forward to in this series!

It’s a place where normal morphs with the paranormal and supernatural. A place that seems to know what a person’s true desires and needs are, and then allows the right circumstances to occur to fulfill those wishes.Welcome to the Gateway Ranch.Your gateway to all things possible…

To Be His
A Gateway Ranch Story
by
C.R. Moss
Genre: Romantic Suspense

I’m Professor Arianna Perez, and I’ve been asked if I’ll ever trust, let alone love, another man again. After dumping an abusive boyfriend, I doubted I would. At least, that’s how I felt until fate had sexy wrangler, Gavin Bishop, reappearing in my life in a way I never expected.
Against my better judgement, I fell hard for the cowboy, believing everything he said, including how he wanted to treat me like a queen and keep me safe. Little did I know, though, that the circumstances that brought us together could also tear us apart…
And possibly claim my life.

As Gavin made sure they were secured behind the gates with plenty of water and some hay and feed, I strolled down the center walkway. Two horses had been left behind from the morning’s rides, but they didn’t seem too upset. I cooed at them as I passed by. When I arrived at the end, I peeked down the left row and the right one, taking in all the tack and saddles hanging on the wall and lining the workbenches on either side of a few doorways.

“Ari? You okay?”

“Yes, just being nosy,” I replied and turned to head back over to Gavin, who happened to be leaning up against one of the empty stalls next to the horse, Ebony, I’d ridden. He’d hooked his thumbs into the belt loops of his jeans and had one booted foot up against the door. The tilt of his head and hat cast shadows, nicely shading the angles and planes of his face. Dust from the trail coated his boots and some of his clothes.

Perfectly rugged and sexy.

The artist in me wished I’d brought sketching materials along so I could capture the moment. Or better yet have kept my phone on me. I could have snapped a picture and then painted him later in the privacy of my own space where I could let my fantasies flow free.

A slight movement on his part revealed his eyes. The intense, direct stare of his gaze made me question my decision to roam the building. Unsure of the nearby exits, I glanced away from him and closed my eyes.

I had to fight the panic sprouting within me. Ever since childhood, when my friends and I almost couldn’t escape a theater during an emergency, not knowing escape routes tended to give me anxiety. Chad hadn’t helped either. When his treatment grew rougher, I always tried to make sure I had a way to leave. Not knowing if a doorway leading to the outside was behind me or not made me antsy.

Gavin’s not that lying cheater Chad. Gavin wouldn’t hurt me.

But did I really know that for sure?

Slowly, I turned my head and opened my eyes. An empty stall containing what looked to be fresh hay sitting in a pile in the back corner caught my attention. The ground appeared to have been cleaned.
Fighting the urge to run, I looked back at him.

His gaze had grown passionate, and his lips had curled into a rakish smile.

My heart fluttered. My knees went weak. The atmosphere seemed electrified.

Any hints of anxiety were swept away due to the sensual magnetism pulsating between us, and all my thoughts fled. Save for one.

What would it be like to have a roll in the hay?
