Lance by Heather Blanton

 Lance
Book 4 Guns for Hire
by Heather Blanton

Book Blurb:

He lost everything. Now he has nothing left to lose.

Lance Wister had a home, a family, and a future—until greedy railroad barons and ruthless bankers took it all. Hardened by war and burning for revenge, he turns to the only justice he has left: hitting his enemies where it hurts—their wallets. But when his own gang betrays him, leaving him wounded and on the run, he’s out of options… until fate lands him in the wagon of a wary but resourceful peddler.

Cat Callahan has spent years outrunning her past, keeping to herself as she roams the rugged frontier. But when she stumbles upon an injured outlaw hiding among her wares, she has a choice—help him and risk her own freedom, or turn him in and possibly reveal her identity to the law.

Forced into an uneasy partnership, Lance and Cat must navigate a treacherous web of enemies, secrets, and the wild Colorado terrain. But the longer they’re together, the harder it is to ignore the fire sparking between them.

When their pasts finally catch up to them, they’ll face a deadly choice: stand together… or let their enemies tear them apart.

A Prideful Heart by Heather Blanton

A Prideful Heart
by Heather Blanton

Book Blurb:

Hearts collide when royalty moves in next door to Burning Dress Ranch!

♥♥♥Brantly Fitzhugh, Esq. accompanies his friend, Duke Phillip Weatherton, to the duke’s recently inherited cattle ranch in Wyoming. Life on the American frontier, it turns out, is full of surprises for the men, most of which come from the ladies of Burning Dress Ranch. The female hands will have Brantly and Phillip scrambling to reassess their views of America and its women, especially when they meet Miranda and Leia–-two sisters with socially unacceptable vocations.

Miranda has come to Burning Dress Ranch solely because of Leia. Having rescued her little sister from an abusive marriage, Miranda sees it as her duty to continue to watch over her sibling. Miss Sally, of course, welcomes both girls…guessing Leia might not be the only one in need of rescuing.

Will unlikely romances blossom between the English and the ladies of Burning Dress, or will pride and prejudices keep them apart?

If you enjoyed reading Janette Oke's classic Christian romance, Love Comes Softly, you'll fall in love with this sweet, Christian Western romance. Don't wait, buy now before the price changes!

 Excerpt:

Miranda was pleasantly surprised with Phillip Weatherton, whom she had no intention of calling Duke or Lord or whatever was his preferred title. “Miss Tobine.” He smiled warmly, took her hand, greeted her with what appeared to be sincere interest. Tall, slender, blonde, wearing the most handsome tuxedo Miranda had ever seen, he reeked of grace and wealth, but he was also quite human…and smitten. But not with her. When he turned his attention to Leia, he stuttered, lost his train of thought, and repeated Leia’s name twice. “It’s, uh…uh, lovely to meet you, Miss Tobine.” “Call me Leia, please.” “Leia. Thank you—thank you for coming tonight. Perhaps you’d do me the honor of a dance later, Leia?” Before Miranda could address the stuttering duke, she was facing a tall, dark, somber looking but handsome man with rigid posture. One unruly curl drifted down over his forehead and Miranda got the feeling it would be dealt with harshly later tonight. He huffed gently, his expression stiff, and ducked his head. “Miss…?” “Tobine. Miranda Tobine.” Sorry to inconvenience you. “Miss Tobine, I am Brantley Fitzhugh, the duke’s friend and lawyer. May I introduce you to the duke’s sister, Duchess Eisley Weatherton.” The duchess didn’t hide her disdain for Miranda. A beautiful woman with luxuriously thick, strawberry hair piled atop her head, she smiled. Only on her, it was a chilling expression. “Miss Tobine. Lovely to meet you.” She offered her gloved hand, but it was a disinterested movement. Miranda reached for it and the woman barely grasped her fingers. Wish I could say the same. “Thank you. It’s an honor.” With a quick glance back at the looming Mr. Brantley, Miranda stepped back and waited for Leia, last in line. She received a similar treatment from the pair, then joined Miranda. Shoulder to shoulder they drifted about in the crowd. “Overwhelming with their warmth, aren’t they?” Leia giggled. “I don’t know. I thought Phillip was quite friendly.” “Phillip, is it? Let’s talk about him over punch.” She tugged Leia toward the dessert table. “He insisted I call him that.” The crowd filled in around them as they wound their way to the food. Miranda didn’t know so many people lived in Johnson County. Of course, one didn’t get to meet a duke every day. The title was enough to bring out the curious. “I rather thought the young lady Leia was quite attractive.” Miranda and Leia froze, unintentionally eavesdropping on the Englishmen standing only a few feet away. “I’d like to ask her to dance,” Phillip continued. “You should ask her sister.” “I see no reason to engage with the locals.” “How do you know that? You haven’t given them a chance. The young lady might be capable of quite stimulating conversation. The four of us together might have a grand time.” “Phillip, let’s be clear. You inherited this place. I am here as your attorney to make sure the paperwork is done correctly. Wyoming is as interesting to me as an ant hill. In other words, a thing to be avoided.” “Come now, Brantley, that is harsh even for you. Both ladies are quite attractive. I’m not asking you to dance with the enormous Fanny Whitehall, for Lord’s sake.” “I will refrain from commenting on the ladies, other than to say they are…so very American.” Phillip laughed and slapped Brantley on the arm. “I think that’s what I like about them.”

Author Bio:

Heather Blanton is an award-winning and USA Today bestselling author and screenplay writer. She has written thirty-plus Christian Western romances, including the highly rated and awarded "Romance in the Rockies" series, which has been optioned for a limited television series.

A former journalist and history buff, she often weaves truth among her fictional storylines. She loves exploring the American West, especially ghost towns and museums. She has walked parts of the Oregon Trail, ridden horses through the Rockies, climbed to the top of Independence Rock, and even held an outlaw's note in her hand.

She grew up in the mountains of Western North Carolina on a steady diet of Bonanza, Gunsmoke, and John Wayne Westerns—back when men were men and women were women, and it didn't cost you your job to claim Jesus as your savior.

Subscribe to her newsletter and find out why readers say, "Yours is the only author newsletter I look forward to getting and I read every word!" It's because Heather is that sassy, entertaining, and inspirational. https://BookHip.com/RNJCB

Her novels are all Christian Western Romance because she enjoys writing about feisty pioneer women who struggle to find love and hold on to their faith. Like all good, old-fashioned Westerns, there is always justice, a moral message, American values, lots of high adventure, unexpected plot twists, and often a touch of suspense. Her work is inspired by authors like the great Louis L'Amour, Francine Rivers, and Linda Lael Miller, to name just a few.

Check out the description to see what a clever plotline Heather has written:

She's about to say, "I Do," when a telegram tells her, "Run!"

Penelope Barker believes in marrying for love ... love of food on the table and a roof overhead. Marrying a crime boss then might mean a little scandal, but it also means plenty of hot meals, soft beds, and decent clothes.

Mere minutes before the wedding, Penelope receives a telegram from her sister warning her that the groom is a killer, and she must run. Trusting her sister, and admonished not to trust anyone else, Penelope dons a nun's habit and jumps a train to Misery, Wyoming.

Lucius "Lucky" Burnett is a range detective--a term synonymous with hired gun. His wake of dead bodies never bothered him until an innocent child was killed. Now, Lucky believes he's not decent company for anyone, especially a good woman.

Hired by the Lodgepole Ranch to find rustlers, he meets the puzzling, sassy nun on the train and the more they're around each other in Misery, the more the attraction grows. There's not a thing he can do about it, of course.

But when trouble finds Penelope, the truth behind her habit sparks gut-wrenching choices ... for them both.

Will the sacrifices for love bring them what they want ... or keep them apart for good?
