W. LYNN CHANTALE SHARES A PEEK AT FOREVER AND TOMORROW

Embittered by divorce, Dexter Carson resolves to live without love or family. When he arrives at a job site, the last thing he anticipates is his instant attraction to the ebony-haired client. But work comes first, and he's determined to maintain a professional distance, no matter how his body reacts to her soft scent and feminine curves.

Beautiful, intelligent, Molly Crosby, always doubted a man would love her, and now that she's forced to care for her infant niece, all hope seems lost. But when she meets Dexter the rugged contractor, she longs to discover what's behind his solemn demeanor, especially when he rewards her with a devastating smile.

When a bombshell threatens the tender relationship that’s been fostered, will Molly's love be enough to overcome the mistakes of the past, or will Dexter walk away on his only chance at love and family?

She’d locked the door, something he advised all his clients to do until they felt comfortable enough. Dexter knocked again.

A faint, “coming,” drifted through the door along with the quick shuffle of feet. A moment later the lock scraped back and the door flung open.

His breath caught in his throat. Soft, tousled curls framed her face, giving her the allure of some sensual pin-up girl. Genuine delight lit her light brown eyes as her full, pouty lips were parted in greeting. He couldn’t stop himself. His body moved on its own volition and he found his mouth on hers. She curled her fingers in his shirt as he dragged her closer, molding her voluptuous curves to his lean, hard frame.

She opened for him, receiving his kiss as if she’d been waiting for it all day. He drifted a hand down the curve of her spine until he grabbed a handful of her luscious rear. Her arms tightened around his neck as he lifted her slightly, settling in the vee of her thighs. He tangled his other hand in her hair, drawing her head back to give him better access to her mouth.

She tasted like a promise whispered on a moonlit night. He deepened the kiss, savoring her unique flavor, allowing it to roll across his tongue and take root where he’d never be able to remove her. She made a small noise in the back of her throat as she seemed to press her lithe body even closer, grinding against his arousal. Lightning arced from his erection, through his veins. Abruptly he pushed her away.

“I—oh God!” He dragged a hand across his head, dislodging his cap. It fluttered to the floor with a quiet thud.

Molly clutched the counter behind her, her eyes a little unfocused. Dexter took in her dazed appearance, kiss swollen lips, and wanted to gather her in his arms again. A siren’s smile curved that sensuous mouth and he longed to sample her sweetness again.

“I haven’t been kissed like that since high school graduation,” she murmured.

The silken rasp of her voice danced over him, making him long for a whole heart and an eternity to explore this sizzling attraction. But his heart wasn’t whole and he’d totally lost his head. With a client at that. When she extended her hand, he stumbled back.

“Ms. Crosby. I—” he began.

“It’s Molly, especially if you’re going to kiss me like that.” Humor filled her eyes. She stepped forward and he put more distance between them. “Dexter, please sit.” Another step. He shook his head, but stayed put.

`“I enjoyed the kiss and I’m glad it happened.”

Surprise coursed through him and must have shown on his face. Her smile widened. “But…”

She stood in front of him and gently twined her fingers with his. He looked down at the way their hands fit together. They felt right. He dragged his thumb against the smoothness of her skin, reveling in the satiny softness. She’d felt so good when he held her. He stifled a groan and tried to pull away, but she retained his hand.

“Dexter, I know you may think this is forward of me. But I want to get to know you. I felt something the first time I saw you.”

He could only stare and shake his head.

She moved closer, her breasts brushing his chest. “Maybe not now, but in time.” She palmed his cheek. “All
I’m asking for is for you to give a little. I’m willing to wait.”

`The hopeful note in her voice touched a need deep inside, where he forced all his dreams and desires. He studied her a long moment. She was being open and honest with him and where most women would’ve slapped his face, she’d embraced the kiss, offering to get to know him better. He didn’t have the right to make her wait for something that would never happen. “Molly…”

MELANIE ATKINS AND BLOOD BOUND

About BLOOD BOUND

Fueled by grief after his fiancée is brutally murdered, Detective Sam Walker focuses on finding her killer -- a calculating predator who binds books with human skin. Dani Barrington, the newest member of NOPD's Victim and Witness Assistance Unit and a survivor of another frightening attack, helps him discover the terrifying link between the monster's known victims.  Despite his anguish, Sam is struck by Dani's strength and determination, especially when her inquisitive nature makes her the killer's next target. He must find a way to protect her or risk losing the one woman who can bring his dead heart back to life.

Excerpt from BLOOD BOUND:

Kristen was gone.

She wasn't at work. She wasn't at home. She hadn't gone out to run an errand. She had simply... vanished.

New Orleans Detective Sam Walker stood in the center of his fiancée's cluttered bedroom and struggled to piece together the timeline of her disappearance. Last night they were supposed to meet for dinner, but he'd caught a case. They'd talked on the phone around eleven, and he'd asked her to meet him for lunch today.

He hadn't spoken to her since.

She was supposed to arrive at the Victim and Witness Assistance Unit for work at nine a.m., but never made it. One of her co-workers had called him about ten o'clock. He'd tried Kristen again, but she hadn't answered.

So he'd come here and found her car in the driveway.

Yet she sure as hell wasn't here.

Her bed was meticulously made, the way she left it every morning, dumping him out if he'd stayed over. A damp towel lay beside the bathroom sink. Soulful jazz drifted from the iPod dock on her nightstand. What terrified him most, though, was the spot of blood marring the door frame and the lone pink sandal lying in the living room floor beside her purse, keys, and cell phone.

His heart lurched. He couldn't breathe, couldn't think. Simply could not absorb that she was missing. They'd been engaged for five months and three days, with only a month to go until the wedding. They should be mulling over the guest list, squabbling about where to go for their honeymoon, and deciding where they wanted to live.

Instead, Sam stared at an empty bed.

"There's no sign of forced entry, so she either let the guy in or he jumped her when she went after the paper this morning." Major Sabbatini's voice seemed to come from far away. "I'm thinking she fought him off and ran, and he caught her here in the bedroom."

"She would have clawed him." Hell, she would've drawn blood with those nails. Sam should know. He had the marks on his back to prove it. Moisture blurred his vision as he eyed the smudge on the door jamb. "She... she just had her nails done a couple of days ago. They're like talons."

"We'll check the blood for DNA. You know that. What were her plans for today?"

"Um... just work, far as I know. She and I were supposed to have lunch." Sam shook his head. "Then tonight, she was going to a wedding shower. I just--"

"When was the last time you spoke with her?"

"Late -- last night." Sam's eyes fell on a partially-filled mug on the table beside Kristen's favorite chair, where she liked to read. A hard knot formed in the center of his chest. "She didn't... even finish her coffee. She loves coffee."

"We're gonna find her, son."

"You don't know that." Sam's voice cracked. He turned to his boss. "What if I never see her again?"

YOUNG ADULT PARANORMAL - WISTERIA

Title: Wisteria
Author: Bisi Leyton
Genre:  Young Adult Paranormal Romance
Date of Publication:  Aug 2012
Number of pages: 275
Cover Artist: Olivia Smith

Wisteria by Bisi Leyton:

Sixteen year old Wisteria Kuti has two options—track the infected around the Isle of Smythe or leave the only known safe haven and face a world infested with flesh eating biters. But even with well-armed trackers, things go wrong and Wisteria ends up alone facing certain death, until she is rescued by the mysterious Bach. Uninfected, Bach is able to survive among the hordes of living dead.

Eighteen year old Bach, from a race known as The Family, has no interest in human affairs. He was sent here to complete his Great Walk and return home as a man—as a Sen Son. The Family regard humans as Dirt People, but Bach is drawn to this Terran girl, whom he has never seen before, but somehow knows.

Hunted by flesh eaters, cannibals, and the mysterious blood thirsty group called Red Phoenix, Wisteria and Bach make their way back to the Isle of Smythe, a community built on secrets and lies.

Praise for Wisteria:

“I love the buildup of this story, getting to know the characters and watching their connection grow. I had no idea which way the story was headed and I was kept in suspense right up to the very end! It has plenty of action and a fascinating plot and I can’t wait to see what Bisi Leyton has for us next!!”

“There are a lot of great things in this book, so much more than zombies and a struggle for survival. At it’s base core it is about star-crossed lovers, literally and the supporting characters roles… Ms. Leyton brings to Wisteria a mixture of science fiction, fantasy, dystopic world with a twist to the paranormal romance angle!”

“The book was full of nonstop action from the beginning until the end, and I did not put it down until I had finished it. I loved the book.”

Excerpt:
As she walked back to the ridge of the roof, Bach’s heart went with her. Someone had tried to hurt her. Tried to damage what belonged to him, and who he belonged to.
He started to feel dizzy from the volumes of strangle weed planted in the front of her house.
“Thank you so much for coming and for the guitar. It’s perfect.” She gave it back to him.
“No, it is yours, Wisteria.” He refused to take it. “Do you not like it?”
“No, I love it. It’s so beautiful.”
“Then keep it.” He kissed her neck. Knowing—hoping—his touch would soothe her pain, but he hadn’t come here to comfort her.
“Bach.” She used her instrument as a shield as she moved away from him. “It’s a bad idea. You won’t understand.”
“You are right. I do not get why you would refuse something you apparently love,” he whispered while rubbing her forearms and taking in her scent.
“If I accept your kindness, then I’ll have to face the consequences. I don’t know if I can face those.”
“You cannot face accepting my kindness, or is it accepting me that you cannot face?”
“Um…?”
“Tell me that you do not feel the same,” he whispered. “That the moment you first saw me that I did not get inside your head. Tell me that you do not think about me all of the time when we are not together?”
The dark-eyed girl did not answer.
Wishing he could will her to speak, he pressed her against his chest. Briefly, he noticed a black spot at the base of her neck, where he had kissed her, and then it was gone. “Okay, Wisteria. Then tell me that you want me to leave, and that you do not care if you never ever see me again.” He felt like someone else was speaking for him, once again. The questions became pointless as he found himself still planting kisses along her neck and the sides of her face.
“I can’t tell you that, Bach,” she replied softly, her voice breaking. “Because it’s not true.” She wrapped her arms around him and held him tightly.
Desperately wanting to kiss her luscious-looking lips, he leaned into her.
Wisteria reached up to him, tugging his head down as she stood on the very tips of her toes, seemingly just as eager to taste his lips.
“Wisteria, I cannot.” He broke away before it happened. “I do not want this.”
* * * * *
Wrapping her arms around herself, she moved away from him. Once again, humiliated and feeling foolish. “Goodnight, Bach!” She strode angrily to the side of the roof in order to climb down.
He grabbed her and held her back
The guy came here just to tease her, yet again! Didn’t he know he was hurting her? Didn’t he care? “I’m tired of all this nonsense. I’m actually tired and need some sleep. I’m done with this. All of this!” She should’ve left the roof when she saw him appear. “Let go, so I can go.”
“Wisteria, it is not that.” Exhaling heavily, he released her. “My people could kill you if they knew I wanted you.”
This wasn’t at all what she’d expected him to say. “What?”
“I am in love with you. I do not know why, but I am. And it is selfish, because I just want you for myself.” Sadness filled his eyes as he spoke.
“Why would they do that to me?”
“Because you are human and because we see humans as Terran, or dirt people.”
“And you believe that too? So why are you here, living among us, if we’re so disgusting?”
“You are not disgusting. You are beautiful.” Rubbing his temples, he seemed troubled and bewildered. “I came to Terra as a rite of passage. To be considered a man, to take a journey and experience the wild.”
“The wild?”
“I chose Terra, or Earth, because I came here as a child. Your people treated me so badly in the past. When I learned about the Nero disease, I wanted to see your world.” He paused. “You were right when you said there was something wrong with me.”
“Bach, it cannot be that bad.” Stepping up to him, she stroked her fingers along his biceps.
The sweet motion made him smile at her, but he still looked distressed.
“Like about Garfield, you let him live with you. And now you’re here with me.”
“You are not like the rest.”
“Neither are you. You’re not so cold and cruel like Enric or patronizing like Felip. They think they’re better than us. You just hate people because you’re a jerk, Bach.”
“Ha.” Bach laughed. “A jerk?”
“You’re a big jerk.” As the final word rolled from her lips, he kissed her.
She was stunned for a second. His lips tasted like a strange, tantalizing spice.
He squeezed her against his larger frame and rested his right hand on the small of her back.
She fidgeted, unsure about what to do with her hands. She tried to kiss him back, but she struggled because she was so short.
