MY RELUCTANT HERO

 By Caroline Clemmons

Most readers of sweet historical western romance love a strong hero able to stand his ground. My latest hero, Levi Iverson, is such a man. He is a friendly and dependable man who is slightly reserved. In fact, he likes most people and has a good sense of humor. In a small town, a businessman has to be congenial and friendly. Levi is pleasant, if distant, to those who have snubbed or tried to take advantage of him. We know he has a soft heart because of the kindness he shows to Charlie Gann, a slow-witted man who loves horses. Levi makes sure Charlie has a job and place to live. Levi and the sheriff and defends Charlie if bullies bother the man.

Levi's livery would have looked
similar to this one

Levi was born in Norway and came to the United States at age four. As do many Norwegians, he has blond hair and blue eyes. His tall, muscular build makes him an attractive man. As blacksmith, he came to Harrigan Springs when he was 19. In addition to the smithy, Levi repairs guns and owns the livery stable where Charlie works.

Blacksmith's tools - a
hard, hot job!

Levi’s three businesses keep him busy, but he keeps his ears tuned for anyone with a house or building for sale, as well as for anyone who needs to rent a property. He’s not a slum lord, but quite the opposite. He remembers how difficult finding a house to rent was when his parents first arrived in Texas. His father spoke a little English, but his mother didn’t. Eventually, his parents acquired a good farm near Medina that is only two hours from Harrigan Springs. His sister and her family are not far.

Levi's sister Ingrid, her husband
Noah Larsen, with children Leah,
Jacob and Aksel, and dog Thor

Levi is sensible and methodical, weighing his decisions carefully -- until he meets his match. He has a life plan, and marriage is a couple of years away when he's 30. You have probably heard the saying, “
The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.” What can a man do when he rescues a beautiful woman from a trio of rascals?

Norway and the Northern Lights

The Casserole Dish by Amey Zeigler

The Casserole Dish
by Amey Zeigler

Blurb:

One broken heart. One broken house. One broken neighborhood. One casserole dish to fix them all.

After a bitter divorce, house rehabber Lisa Bennigan needs a fresh start with her three kids. When she inherits a house in St. Louis, she soon discovers she's out of her depth. Will she be able to rehab the house on her own?

Country boy, Jackson Tydell, needs something to shake him from his rut. Living alone with his dog, Marshall, he's working from home, wearing the same sweatpants and t-shirt everyday. When an interesting woman moves into the house behind him. He's intrigued and offers to contribute his skills. Will their friendship blossom into something more?

When the neighborhood erupts into gossip about her, Lisa is thrown into despair. Can she ever out-live her husband's shameful past? Can a slightly magical casserole dish heal their neighborhood? Or will Lisa need to move again?

Read this award-winning women's fiction covering topics frequently facing women: pregnancy loss, divorce, infidelity, depression, and transition to retirement.

Excerpt:

Who could she call for help? Coughing into her sleeve, Lisa Bennigan picked up her phone from a pile of bills. Each red line sent hot daggers toward her ex-husband.

Rock bottom. She’d hit rock bottom. No. She was under the rock in rock bottom. Underneath and buried. All because of Keith.

Sitting on a moving box in her kitchen, surrounded by packing paper and unwashed dishes, Lisa gripped her phone. Flatware, packaged food, and cups littered the countertops ready to wrap and store. Several half-packed boxes clogged the floor with crumpled paper springing out like pale jack-in-the-boxes.

Holding the cell, she scrolled through her recent calls. Fifty of them. All to secure an apartment for the four of them within her budget in the Phoenix valley. Each one wanted an additional twelve-hundred-dollar pet deposit for Edith’s white schnauzer-mix, Missy. Twelve hundred dollars Lisa didn’t have.

Lisa clenched her jaw. Because of Keith, Edith already had to start first grade at a new school. Still, Edith cried for him at night. She couldn’t lose Missy, too. Could Lisa hock a kidney? Missy had to stay with the family. For Edith’s sake.

With a constricted chest, Lisa scrolled until names appeared on her recent call list and hoped for a sign of biblical proportions—pillars of fire over a number or trumpeting angels signaling aid. She needed a lifeline, a listening ear, or someone who could remove this boulder from her chest. And the stress of a looming deadline. She needed a miracle.

Coughing again, Lisa’s thumb hovered over her sister-in-law’s number. She should call Kate about the rose-print china, anyway. But Kate’s demanding court docket meant a likely voicemail answer. Lisa could at least leave a message or perhaps catch Kate at a late lunch. It was only one p.m. in Missouri. After a moment’s hesitation, she clicked on her number.

Tears leaked from her eyes, and relief flooded her when Kate’s groggy voice greeted her. “You’re lucky you caught me working from home today. Heather’s sick. Stomach flu. Isn’t that great? I stayed up all night cleaning pizza-laced vomit off bookshelves and stuffed animals. That kid has a projectile range any missile launcher would be proud of. But enough about my problems. How are you doing? It’s been a while.”

Lisa’s voice caught on a chord of gratitude. Just hearing Kate’s voice softened the ache in her shoulders. Then she coughed. “Do you want your mother’s wedding china?”

Kate blew air from her lips. “Who needs china? We don’t have time for ceramic. At dinner, we use legal briefs as paper plates to catch the crumbs as we inhale food.”

Lisa chuckled at the image and removed a plate from the careful packaging surrounding the delicate china. Oh, how she had admired the rose-print china when Keith claimed it after his mother’s death. How she loathed it now after the divorce. “Should I just shoot it for skeet practice, then?”

“Heh. Save it for Edith or—wait. Why are you asking?”

Lisa tucked back in the plate. “I’m just packing up.”

“Are you moving?”

“Nope,” she chirped. “I routinely pack the house just to see how many boxes I need.” Keith’s conviction flipped her life upside down. Her sanity and her sense of humor hung by a thread.

“Har, har. Didn’t the judge award you the house?”

“She did.” The truth flamed her cheeks and tore at her gut. How could she tell Kate what happened? She who never had a financial worry in her marriage. “But we can’t afford to live here anymore.” Lisa luckily limped through the bills until the house sold.

“But how is that?”

A wry smile pressed on her lips. “Despite my stellar skills, I can’t keep the rehabbing business together.” Coughing, Lisa held the phone away and thumped her chest. “Sorry about all my hacking,” she said when she returned to the phone. “I can’t get rid of this cough. It’s been plaguing me for months.”

“You’re selling?”

“Sold.” Lisa wrapped two bowls in packing paper, but needing a fresh taped box, she left them on the cluttered counter. “Selling is the only way to pay the debts of the rehabbing business. And the court costs.”

Kate huffed slightly.

Kicking paper and extra bubble wrap on the floor, Lisa headed for the table. “But desperation rarely turns a profit. I’ll have a little money after the sale to pay debts. Selling is better than foreclosing.” A laugh-turned-cough gurgled from her throat. “Ironic, don’t you think? I used to help people by buying their foreclosures, and I almost foreclosed.”

“Keith’s a cad. I can say that because he’s my brother.”

“I can’t believe he’d be so selfish. Didn’t he think where his actions would leave him? Would leave us? And the neighborhood gossip is eating me alive.” Time for rest ended. The kids could walk through the door any minute. She tucked a stray hair into her bagel bun. “I don’t want my kids to know. So far, I’ve kept Keith’s sentencing from them.”

Silence expanded on the other end.

“You think that’s wrong?” Lisa picked up a black marker and labeled the contents on the box: Kitchen Junk To Sort Later.

“Transitions are hard. I won’t pass judgment.”

“The kids don’t deserve to be hurt by Keith’s actions.”

“I agree.”

“I need a fresh start.” She set down the marker. “Or I could nanny for some rich family in London. Think they’d mind if I brought along a teenager, a ten-, and a six-year-old?”

“Funny you should say that.” Kate’s voice grew excited.

Hope sprung in Lisa’s heart. “Tell me you have a flat in London you’re not using.”

Kate chuckled. “No. I just had a brilliant idea. Six months ago, we moved Grandma Maybelle into a home near us for daily care.” She drew a breath. “But we never sold her house in St. Louis. Moving there could be the change you’re searching for.”

“St. Louis?” Lisa didn’t know anything about the city except it was famous for an arch.

A Buckeye Falls Novel #3

by Libby Kay

Welcome back to Buckeye Falls, Ohio!
Does this small town mayor have the political savvy to negotiate his way back into his wife’s heart?

From the outside, Mayor Anthony Snyder and his wife Natalie have it all. Adorable children, a lovely home, and a never-ending supply of free food from the local diner. But behind closed doors, this duo struggles to stay connected. The sparkle they show Buckeye Falls has turned a little dull on the home front.

Over the last decade, things became hectic in the Snyder household. Anthony was elected to office, following in his father’s footsteps. Unfortunately, he’s reminded regularly that these are big shoes to fill. Being the best mayor takes a lot of time—time he’s not spending with his family.

Natalie prides herself on being everything to everyone, but the job of a wife hasn’t been smooth sailing. Wrapped up in her own growing business and their kids’ activities, her time with Anthony has dwindled faster than her secret stash of Halloween candy. Natalie longs for quality time with the man she loves, but it never seems to be in the cards.

A chance to visit their family lake house promises a week away from it all, but can these two reconnect when there’s no distractions? Or is it time for these high achievers to admit that love might be the one thing they can’t master?

With a little help from the residents of Buckeye Falls, this power couple will find their way back to happily ever after.

Falling Again is the third book in the Buckeye Falls series, but it can be enjoyed as a standalone read. MY IRISH LOVE AFFAIR

By Caroline Clemmons

The title might be slightly misleading. Ha. Actually, Hero and I love Ireland, but the only affair I had there is with Hero. Although, I admit I fell in love with Ireland even before I fell in love with Hero.

When I was a child, I loved the movies in which Barry Fitzgerald appeared. His Irish accent fascinated me (and still does). Recently, Hero and I re-watched The Quiet Man for the umpteenth time. We’ve seen it so many times we know most of the dialogue. I never tire of it, even though Ireland has changed since the film was made in 1952.

Barry Fitzgerald

When Hero and I were on our first tour of Ireland, we ate lunch at the inn where Maureen O’Hara stayed when filming The Quiet Man. She is one of my favorite actresses, plus I always wanted to look like her when she was young. We loved that tour that only increased my love of Ireland. Hero says he had to drag me onto the plane home. I did hate to leave but I deny that my heels left scuff marks in the air terminal as he dragged me to the plane. Several years later, we took a second tour for a longer time. We had planned to go back and rent a cottage for a month. Alas, the best of plans go awry. Between Hero’s Parkinson’s and my “parting gifts” from Covid, we won’t be able to rent that cottage. We have wonderful, wonderful memories of all our travels, though.

Maureen O'Hara

Several of the heroines in books I’ve written are Irish. The first was Cenora Rose O’Neill in THE TEXAN’S IRISH BRIDE, which is a sensual historial western romance. I did so much research for that book, but I loved it. Other Irish heroines in sweet, clean historical western romances are Gormlaith (pronounced Gorm lee and is Gaelic for Barbara) McGowan in THE RANCHER AND THE SHEPHERDESS and Betsie Galloway in MONK’S BRIDE. The hero is Irish in O’NEILL'S TEXAS BRIDE.

Maeve Kelly is my latest Irish heroine in LEVI AND THE MAIL ORDER BRIDE. Unlike most Irish women her age, Maeve is well educated because her uncle—a retired university professor—taught her and others. As his star pupil, he told her  he would send her to attend the university in Heidelberg where he had taught. Unfortunately, her uncle's death derailed that dream.

Maeve Kelly

Her father died about this time, and her mother developed cancer. A devoted daughter, Maeve nursed her mother until the lovely woman passed. Maeve is not afraid of hard work. During this time, she took care of the garden and the household chores. and the sheep. A cousin helped with the sheep. When her mother passed, Maeve sold everything she could and traveled to New York City to stay with her sister, Aine Sullivan. Maeve and Aine were best friends and Aine encouraged Maeve to come to stay with them. However, Aine and her husband and two children live in a tenement in a two room flat. In spite of so many signs that say "No Irish Need Apply," Maeve knows she has to do something different to accomplish her dreams of a family.

Maeve is determined to marry a good man. Encouraged by a coworker, she answers an advertisement for a mail order bride. When she gets to Harrigan Springs, Texas, she refuses to marry the man who has sent for her—as well she should. He’s a scoundrel but he insists she either comes with him or repay him for her fare. She has no money.. Oh, but that leads her to her story...

If you haven’t read LEVI AND THE MAIL ORDER BRIDE, I hope you’ll get a copy of this sweet, clean historical western romance and learn the rest of Maeve’s story. The link to purchase the book from Amazon is below. Of course, it’s free in Kindle Unlimited.

Portraits, Passion, and Other Pastimes by Charlie Lane

The Art of Love, Book 1

Regency Romance

Date Published: 06-14-2023

photo add-to-goodreads-button_zpsc7b3c634.png

A marquess with an inheritance problem.

When his father dies, Raph Bromley, new Marquess of Waneborough inherits more than his father’s title. He inherits a crumbling estate, an ocean of debt, a valuable art collection, and a most unusual stipulation in his father’s will. No piece in the art collection can be sold unless Raph first creates a brilliant work of art. But his imagination is as nonexistent as his artistic experience, and that’s never going to happen.

Thank goodness for heiresses. Raph will simply marry for money. Problem solved. Except his mother’s new companion, a dark-haired, clever, poor beauty tests his resolve and makes him think …

Maybe painting won’t be so hard.

(It is…)

A companion with no home of her own.

Matilda Bellvue has worked as a companion for fifteen years, but she’s inherited a cottage in Cumbria, and she’ll soon make it her home. She plans to spend her days reading scandalous novels and redecorating every room. But first, she must complete one final job, serving as companion to the Marquess of Waneborough’s mother.

Her task is simple: help the grieving marchioness, argue with the hard-headed marquess, avoid matchmakers, and resist spying on naked men swimming in the lake. Above all else, she must not fall in love with her employer, a man who makes her feel like she's finally found home.

Because she has no money. And he must marry rich. And that way only lies heartache.

Funny, sweet, and definitely steamy, book 1 in the Art of Love series is a late Regency romance that's as lighthearted as it is hot!

About the Author

USA Today Bestselling author Charlie Lane traded in academic databases and scholarly journals for writing steamy Regency romcoms like the ones she’s always loved to read. Her favorite authors are Jane Austen (who else?), Toni Morrison, William Blake, Julia Quinn, and Maya Rodale.

Charlie writes unique stories with unconventional characters who push against the rigid restrictions of their society. Officially, Charlie has a Ph.D. in literature with a focus on the nineteenth-century novel and children’s literature and answers to Professor. Unofficially, she’s a high-flying circus-obsessed acrobat. She lives with her own Colonel Brandon, two little dudes, and a furry fella in East Tennessee.

LEVI'S MOM TELLS ALL!

As told to Caroline Clemmons

Thank you for inviting me to talk to you today. I want to tell you about my brilliant son, Levi Iverson. First, I’d better give you a little background on the family.

My name is Ellvita Iverson. My husband Haakon and I grew up in Norway. It’s a beautiful country and I’m sure you’d love it there.  We were happy growing up there, but we longed for an easier life with our own land and winters that were not so harsh.

View of Norwegian Farm
by Johan Christian Dahl 1877

Haakon was best friends with my brother, Gustav Nilson. Haakon and Gustav decided they would come to America. In fact, Gustav’s wife Frieda and I agreed that was a good plan. We had heard about Texas and that many other Norwegians were moving there. When we booked our passage, Levi had just turned four and his sister Ingrid was two.

You may think we were crazy to travel so far with such small children, but we could hardly wait to get to our new home. Ach, we were young and didn’t realize the dangers or hardships we’d encounter. My Haakon is so smart and strong  and such a good man, I knew I could trust him to find us a place. Gustav and Frieda had no children, and doted on Levi and Ingrid.

Haakon and Gustav understood quite a bit of English and spoke a little. Frieda and I didn’t. The only places we could find to live at first were little more than shacks. Eventually, we were able to homestead adjoining farms. What a great day that was! Levi was able to start school. Such a smart boy he was. That’s not just a mother’s opinion. His teachers were proud of him, too.

Levi always helped Haakon whenever he could, but, but he didn’t enjoy farming. Haakon understood and Levi found a job near our farm working for a blacksmith. He worked hard, but he said he enjoyed the challenges. When he decided to continue as a blacksmith and opened his own smithy in Harrigan Springs, he was only nineteen. He also repaired guns as he learned from my brother, and soon purchased the local livery stable. Unknown to most people, he continued to buy up property—homes and businesses. I’m so proud to say that he was generous to everyone with whom he did business. He had rental property, but he remembered the terrible place we lived when we first came here. He vowed he would never take advantage of anyone. He has become a community leader in Harrigan Springs, Texas.

That brings me up to the point where he met a lovely girl. She is perfect for Levi, though he had his doubts at first. She had come to town as the mail order bride for someone else, but she refused to marry the awful man. I’m sure you’ll agree, if you read their story. It’s available at Amazon and is free in Kindle Unlimited.

WANT A READING SUGGESTION?

 By Caroline Clemmons

How is your weekend going? I hope you're spending part of it reading a good book!

Our family members are voracious readers. My father is responsible for my love of reading, he and my fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Huff. My mother didn't discover the joy of reading until she was retired and my aunt brought her a copy of THE THORN BIRDS. Later, my mom said she regretted not reading for all those years. She was hooked! She was so proud when I became a published author. Sadly, my father and aunt had already passed away by that time. I know they would have loved the idea. They were both such good people that perhaps they look down from heaven. So far, I have over 80 titles published, and I have many more planned. Here's my Amazon Author Page link, in case you want to order one of the books I mention. https://www.amazon.com/Caroline-Clemmons/e/B001K8CXZ6

The first series I published was the Kincaids, in which the first three books are sensual and the later titles are sweet. I love that series. The first book's heroine, Pearl Parker, was inspired by a story kernel my grandmother told me of a girl in the town in which she lived. Can you imagine a woman so steeped in false pride that she would try to kill her own granddaughter? It really happened, but the rest of the book is pure fiction. I thought any woman who began life as an unwanted child deserved a happily ever after That book was THE MOST UNSUITABLE WIFE. I had used bride instead of wife, but Kensington changed it, supposedly because they had already published a book with The Most Unsuitable Bride as the title.

The second series was The Men of Stone Mountain (Texas), my first efforts at self-publishing. I simply love the three brothers who launched that series. Their aunts are patterned after my mom and her sister. I confess that I like Alice from HIGH STAKES BRIDE best of the heroines, though the heroine of BLUEBONNET BRIDE is a close second. I continued the series with several more books set in the fictional town of Radford Crossing. The first three are sensual and the rest are sweet. The first two are available as audio books.

Occasionally, I write contemporary romance. One of the series is Texas Time Travel. I was able to combine my love of history with romance adventures for three couples in TEXAS LIGHTNING, TEXAS RAINBOW, and TEXAS STORM. The last book is about the Woman's Auxiliary Support Program, from Avenger Field in Sweetwater, Texas. The women who served in the WASP were very brave.  My author friend Sherri Easley is writing a series about the WASP, called The Avenger Girls. I can hardly wait until she publishes them. She has a day job, and that gets in the way. My Texas Time Travel covers are included wsith the Loving A Rancher series below.

I enjoyed writing in Debra Holland's Kindle World, and was devastated when Amazon cancelled that popular program. I changed the names that belonged to Debra and relaunched the sweet romance series, Loving A Rancher,  but I lost all the reviews I had when it was in Kindle World. The first, AMANDA'S RANCHER, is my favorite, but MURDOCH'S BRIDE sells more.

Instead of mail order brides, I created a series where seven women were brought to a Texas town by a widow who was left with plenty of money to do such a thing. I'm not giving away spoilers when I tell you each of the seven women found a husband--including the widow who brought the women to Texas. This is a very popular series of sweet historical romances. I enjoyed writing each of these, and readers have appeared to enjoy reading them. The first of this series is JOSEPHINE.

I wrote single titles in a number of multi-author series. Those were fun and gave me a chance to work with some very pleasant and superb authors. Those include DESPERATE IN DELAWARE, THEODOSIA, three books in the The Pinkerton Matchmaker Series, two in the Widows of Wildcat Ridge, and many more.

My current series is The Texas Hill Country Mail Order Bride Series. Whew, Why did I choose such a long series title? 😉Anyway, I love the series. The heroes are GENTRY, JESSE, QUINN, and LEVI, and I'm writing KEITH's story now. I hope you'll give this series a read. I've worked really hard to make each unique, even though they take place in the same fictional town of Harrigan Springs. My daughters and I laugh about the town name. When they were small, they watched Saturday morning cartoons. There was one with this little dog who did a dance, wore a bowler hat, and sang, "H. A. Double R. I... GAN spells Harrigan." The youngest said she can't keep from singing that in her head every time she reads it.

I hope to reach 100 titles someday. Guess I'd better busy and write.

Stay safe and keep reading!

The Echo of Old Books by Barbara Davis

The Echo of Old Books
by Barbara Davis

Book Blurb:

A novel about the magical lure of books and summoning the courage to rewrite our stories by the Amazon Charts bestselling author of The Keeper of Happy Endings and The Last of the Moon Girls.

Rare-book dealer Ashlyn Greer’s affinity for books extends beyond the intoxicating scent of old paper, ink, and leather. She can feel the echoes of the books’ previous owners—an emotional fingerprint only she can read. When Ashlyn discovers a pair of beautifully bound volumes that appear to have never been published, her gift quickly becomes an obsession. Not only is each inscribed with a startling incrimination, but the authors, Hemi and Belle, tell conflicting sides of a tragic romance.

With no trace of how these mysterious books came into the world, Ashlyn is caught up in a decades-old literary mystery, beckoned by two hearts in ruins, whoever they were, wherever they are. Determined to learn the truth behind the doomed lovers’ tale, she reads on, following a trail of broken promises and seemingly unforgivable betrayals. The more Ashlyn learns about Hemi and Belle, the nearer she comes to bringing closure to their love story—and to the unfinished chapters of her own life.

My Review:

I read this book very quickly.  It was mesmerizing to read about an old romance while watching a new one take hold.  The writing was very believable, and I lost myself in the book for several hours at a time.  The ending was very satisfying, as well.  I don't read books that don't end well.  I would recommend this book to anyone, but especially to someone who likes searching for treasures among old books at garage sales and library book sales.

MEMORIAL DAY MEMORIES

By Caroline Clemmons

There were times (and may still be in some areas) when people went to the cemetery to clear out weeds and trash so that the graves of loved ones looked as nice as possible. I’m aware of a business in Parker County, Texas that sends their employees out to clean cemeteries in the months they are not delivering much gas to homes. For the most part, though, cemeteries are “perpetual care” where the cost of the gravesite covers continual care.

That’s the type in which my parents and Hero’s are buried. My mom chose to be cremated, but then have her ashes buried next to my father. I was fortunate to have parents who set a good example and who cared about me. I’m sorry my father didn’t live long enough to see me published, although I suppose he knows anyway. Here are the photos of my parents, separately because they never sat for a portrait together. I wish they had.

Pearson Madison Johnson
My handsome dad

My dad, Pearson Madison Johnson, was a generation older than my mom, Lena Mae Phifer. She was well on the way to being an old maid when she married him. I was born just over three years later. At the time, we lived in Dodson, Texas, almost on the Oklahoma line. Dad managed the Davis cotton gin. When I was not quite one, Mr. Davis died and one of his sons decided to manage the gin, so my Dad was out of a job. My half-siblings urged him to move to California where the four of them lived. We moved to Southern California, settling in Oildale, a suburb of Bakersfield not far from my oldest half-sister. Dad was a contractor who built houses.

My sweet mom

But, I developed San Joaquin Valley Fever and the doctor said I had to leave the valley or I would die. In fact, I was so sick that I don't remember our move the summer before I was eight. We moved back to Texas and I did improve remarkably. I grew up in Lubbock, a very nice place to live if you can take the sandstorms. Obviously, we could. My younger brother, an Oops baby, was born when I was ten.

I can’t imagine how hard it must have been for my father to start over all those times. He was in his fifties when I was born. He worked in hot temperatures to get his start in California. Then he had to start over when we moved back to Texas and he ended up buying cotton until he lost his eyesight fifteen years before he died. Since he was much older than my mom, he died before she did. In fact, he died on May 26, 1972.

Mom loved her children, grandchildren, her stepchildren, and their children. The day of her death on January 24, 2007, she’d been to a meeting of our church women and we went to lunch at her favorite restaurant for sweet and sour chicken. Surprisingly, the minister accompanied us. I spent the afternoon with her chatting and helping her with a few bookkeeping details. She had such a wonderful time that day. It was only in the evening that her stomach distress began.

When she had broken her hip four years earlier, she confessed my dad came to her and held out his hand, but she was afraid to take it then. She said she was no longer afraid, and if it happened again, she would take his hand. Hero and I were with her when she lay dying. She reached up her hand above her as if grasping something in the air. Then, her eyes rolled back and she passed. I am positive my dad came for her. Though I miss them still, knowing they are together is of some comfort.
