High Rise Love by Angelina Kerner

Don't forget to enter the drawing at the bottom of the post.

High Rise Love
by Angelina Kerner
Genre: Sweet Romantic Comedy, Chick Lit

A weekend getaway from family and work. Only one fear- an elevator.

Lana Tanner decides that it's time to woman up, because that view from the ridiculously expensive roof, twenty-five stories up should help with a break. Pulling up her big girl panties and embracing her fear she gets on that elevator, only to get stuck, her worst fear coming true. Can the handsome stranger she's stuck with help her overcome her fears and will anything come of it?

Lucas: This meeting’s way too boring. What are you up to, love?

Me: Do you like reindeer?

Lucas: Thanksgiving’s been over for days, so I guess it’s reindeer season.

Me: LOL, yeah it is. But do you like them?

Lucas: I always feel sad for Grandma.

Me: Are you talking about that reindeer song?

It’s not really an answer, hon.

Lucas: You called me hon. Okay, if you like reindeer, I like reindeer.

Me: Okay. You’re so not helpful.

Miss? Are you ready to check out?” the cashier grabbed my attention.

Sorry! Yes, please, thank you,” I replied fast and piled my items on the conveyor belt. “I would also like a bag. Thank you.”

Not a problem,” she replied and started scanning. “Oh, I love the tie. I bought a similar one for my husband. It’s going to be a hit when the holiday parties start.”

That’s good. I’ve been debating on getting it the whole line,” I admitted.

She gave me a cheeky look. “New boyfriend?”

I blushed. “Something like that. It's very new.”

Congratulations, girlfriend. Reel him in with gifts and home-cooked meals. Men like that.”

I laughed. “Well, Mom did teach me how to cook well so I have that going for me. But, isn’t it supposed to be the opposite? The man showering the girl with gifts?”

The cashier winked. “Honey. No way. Men love gifts. They are like teddy bears. They may look hard on the outside, but inside they can cry at Ironman’s death, too.”

BETTER THAN CHOCOLATE IS A ROMANTIC ADVENTURE!

BETTER THAN CHOCOLATE
by J. Lynn Rowan

J. Lynn Rowan is awarding a $10 Amazon/BN GC to a randomly drawn commenter via Rafflecopter

GENRE:  Chick Lit Romance

BETTER THAN CHOCOLATE Blurb:

Carmella Sannarelli just found out that her best friend, Sadie Miller, has broken her engagement and is eloping on St. Croix. Though Carmella agrees to act as the maid of honor, she’s determined to find out what went wrong between her friends.

But she’s not counting on coming face to face with Ryan Wutkowski (the jilted fiancé) on the plane, or with staying at his hotel during a two-day stopover in San Juan. They try to act like nothing’s changed. But Carmella’s totally flustered by the weird vibes Ryan sends her, as well as how tingly and off-kilter she feels every time he so much as looks at her.

Now Carmella can’t stop thinking about Ryan or his behavior, even though most of her time in St. Croix is taken up by pre-wedding activities and dodging advances from the womanizing best man. And she knows there’s more to the story behind Ryan and Sadie’s breakup than either of them will admit to her.

Especially after Ryan shows up at the rehearsal dinner and gets himself invited to the wedding...

BETTER THAN CHOCOLATE Excerpt :

Ryan taps my arm. “Why are you on a flight to San Juan?”

I peer at him, my eyes narrow slits. “Why are you?”

A rhetorical question. Although his suit coat is probably in the overhead bin, safe inside a garment bag, his dress pants, crisp white button-down shirt, and Italian leather shoes tell me everything.

He answers anyway. “I have a conference over the next couple days. I have to go straight from the airport to my first meeting.”

The plane levels out, as does my head, and I wriggle to sit up straight. “They could at least let you check into your hotel first.”

“Well, fortunately the conference is at my hotel.”

“It’s a pretty fast trip.” I press my face to the window glass, squinting against the glare.

He shifts in his seat. “I had some vacation time coming, so I extended the trip through the middle of next week.”

So he’s not the only one who decided on a Caribbean adventure in the wake of his and Sadie’s breakup. I close my eyes, glad I didn’t say it out loud.

“Carmella, why are you going to Puerto Rico by yourself?”

The advantages of having Ryan for a flight companion have just turned moot. There’s no way to avoid this discussion. The flight’s too long. “I’m on my way to St. Croix.”

There. I said it. Sort of.

“What’s in St. Croix?”

His voice is low, and when I glance at him, he looks away. His jaw shifts, his profile a stern mask.

“I think you already know,” I answer slowly.

“Sadie.”

SPEAK NOW OR FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE

Speak Now

Becky is giving away a $100 gift card to one person on the tour. See the Rafflecopter below.

Synopsis of SPEAK NOW OR FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE by Becky Monson

If there’s one thing that Bridgette Reynolds has learned recently, it’s that the perfect shoes, the perfect hair, and the perfect dress do not make for the perfect proposal. In fact, sometimes they make for the not-so-perfect breakup.

Now, Bridgette must do everything in her power to win Adam back. She knows they are meant to be. And nothing will stand in her way—not her friends, not her grandmother, not even the fact that Adam is now engaged to Serene after a whirlwind romance.

Focused on her plan to win Adam back, Bridgette isn’t expecting Ian—her college best friend, her love, her big regret—to come back into her life. They sink back into their comfortable friendship as if no time has passed at all, making Bridgette start to question her feelings for Adam. But Ian has a few secrets of his own . . . secrets that could shatter their friendship once and for all.

Bridgette has to make some major decisions—should she speak now? Or forever hold her peace?

Here's an excerpt to intrigue you:

“Bridgette?” I hear a male voice say my name as I near the staging door. An extremely familiar voice.
I turn around. “Yes?” I ask, searching through the crowd for the person who’s calling my name. Thinking it couldn’t possibly be him. Not after all this time.
“Bridgette Reynolds?” The voice gets closer. A face comes into focus. My blood starts pumping through my veins at a ridiculous pace.
“Ian?” I say, my eyes bugging out of my head and my stomach twisting into knots instantly. “Ian Davies?” It can’t possibly be him. But, on closer inspection, it is him.
I swallow hard to push back tears that are already on the surface because of Adam. But seeing Ian after all this time pushes those tears to the very edge.
“Bridgette? Oh wow.” He wraps his arms around me, lifting me up and spinning me long enough for me to gather my tears and force them back.
“What are you doing here?” he asks, as he puts me down, gesturing to the catering uniform I’m wearing, which, thank goodness, is a black skirt and a white dress shirt, paired with lovely black no-slip shoes. And by lovely, I mean they are hideous. I can handle this ensemble, though. There are other, much-less-attractive uniforms I’ve had to wear.
“I work for the catering company. What are you doing here?” I gesture to his black suit, white shirt, and black tie. Armani, no doubt.
“I work for the brokerage.” He nods his head toward the party going on behind him. “I can’t believe I’m seeing you. Here, in New York. What’re you doing here? Do you live in the city?” Ian asks.
“I moved in with Gram in Carroll Gardens,” I say, shaking my head. “I can’t believe it’s you.”
This is all incredibly hard for me to wrap my brain around. I had honestly given up hope that I would ever see or hear from Ian again. Of course, I had envisioned running into him—many, many times—but it wasn’t like this. Most of the time, I was in a tight dress, wind in my hair . . . not at a party I’m working, in a not-so-flattering uniform, smelling of onion.

VICTORIA BERNADINE SHARES A LIFE LESS ORDINARY

Have you had those weeks where things are either disastrous or heavenly? That's what my past week has been, with no happy medium for me to allow me to coast. For instance, we thought we had sold our house, but the deal fell through. Then I learned I won the Winter Rose Contest for BRAZOS BRIDE and my HIGH STAKES BRIDE came in second. Plus, BRAZOS BRIDE won the overall grand prize. See, roller coaster week.

Once of the disasters is the disappearance of the copy for today's blog on A LIFE LESS ORDINARY by Victoria Bernadine. Yep, it's out there somewhere in the cybersphere, floating along looking for my computer. This is especially upsetting because A LIFE LESS ORDINARY sounds like a terrific book. I downloaded it, but haven't had a chance to read it yet.

So, with apologies to Victoria, here is the most I have.

Now Available on Amazon and Smashwords

About A LIFE LESS ORDINARY

For the last fifteen years, Rose “Manny” Mankowski has been a very good girl. She turned her back on her youthful fancies and focused on her career. But now, at the age of 45, she's questioning her choices and feeling more and more disconnected from her own life. When she's passed over for promotion and her much younger new boss implies Manny's life will never change, something snaps. In the blink of an eye, she's quit her job, sold her house and cashed in her pension, and she's leaving town on a six month road trip. After placing a personal ad for a travelling companion, she's joined in her mid-life crisis by Zeke Powell, the cynical, satirical, most-read – and most controversial – blogger for the e-magazine, What Women Want. Zeke's true goal is to expose Manny's journey as a pitiful and desperate attempt to reclaim her lost youth – and increase his readership at the same time. Leaving it all behind for six months is just an added bonus. Now, armed with a bagful of destinations, a fistful of maps, and an out-spoken imaginary friend named Harvey, Manny's on a quest to rediscover herself – and taking Zeke along for the ride.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Victoria Bernadine (a pseudonym) is, as the saying goes, a "woman of a certain age". After twenty-something years of writer's block, she began writing again in 2008. She began with fanfiction about a (now-cancelled) TV show called "Jericho" and particularly about the characters of Heather Lisinski and Edward Beck. From there, she expanded into writing original fic and she hasn't stopped since.

Victoria enjoys reading all genres and particularly loves writing romantic comedy and post-apocalyptic science fiction. What those two have in common is anybody's guess.

She lives in Edmonton with her two cats (The Grunt and The Runt). A LIFE LESS ORDINARY is the first novel she felt was good enough to be released into the wild.

I'll update Victoria's post information as soon as I receive replacement copy. Please stop back by.
