Jodi Thomas is always a must-read for
me. Her earlier western historical romances captured me as one of her fans. Now
that most of her books are contemporary, I’m still tagging along to read her
books. I feel as if I actually know the people in her each of her series. She
writes about West Texas, which is where I grew up. I believe I know the
settings for each series and that makes me love them even more.
MISTLETOE MIRACLES is no exception. This
is another of the Crossroads, Texas/ Ransom Canyon series, but could be a
stand-alone. As usual, she weaves multiple stories into her tale. Although the
book is set at Christmastime, you don’t have to love Christmas stories in order
to enjoy this book. You’ll love the characters and how they overcome their
struggles.
Here’s the MISTLETOE MIRACLES book blurb:
Griffin
Holloway is desperate: the Maverick Ranch has been in his family for
generations, but lately, it’s a money pit. He’d sooner marry one of his horses
than sell the ranch. Marriage, though, could be a solution.
If he can woo a wealthy bride, he might save the ranch—just in time for
Christmas.
Jaxon O’Grady likes his solitude just fine, thank you very much. But when a car accident brings the unexpected to his door, he realizes just how much one person can need another.
Crossroads is the perfect place for Jamie Johnson: avoiding nosy questions about why she’s single, she’s happy to keep to her lakeside home. So she’s baffled when she gets the strangest Christmas present of all, in the form of a Mr. Johnson, asleep on her sofa. Who is he, and why does everyone think he’s her husband?
Characters from earlier books in the series drift in and out, but the book is primarily about three couples. Each of the six characters has given up on finding love and proceeded to build his or her life. Ms Thomas’ interweaves the stories to mesmerize the reader. You will not want to put this book down until you’ve read to the last page. I never give spoilers, so this is all I’ll add: 5 Stars!
